This series is part of an ongoing experimentation with abstract vectors. I start with some simple shapes and, by setting a randomizing algorithm of scale and rotation commands I turn them into clusters of shapes that take on a life of their own. Almost never do I start with a set idea in mind of what the finished art might look like. The process is more akin to an incubator where I mix together some elements and then watch what springs forth. Most of my work starts as digital compositions, and only towards the end of the process, when I get a sense of the dynamics of the work, I decided what medium it should materialize in. When they get plotted onto large canvases, they take on the presence of paintings, which is why I like to call them paintings, even when they’re not.
